I am getting ready to do the XSMN filter change and converter drain on my 240D. I have read archives which pretty much gave me the info
but I just wanted to make definite sure.
THE TORQUE CONVERTER REFILLS THROUGH THE FILLER NECK WITH THE XSMN AND NOT SEPERATELY
SO..
1. WARM UP .
2. DRAIN XSMN PAN.
3. ROTATE ENGINE FOR PLUG/ DRAIN TORQUE CONVERTER.
4. REINSTALL TORQUE CONVERTER PLUG.
5. REMOVE PAN / REPLACE AND PROPERLY TORQUE
FILTER.
6. INSTALL PAN (NEW GASKET/ TORQUE EVENLY)
7. REINSTALL PAN PLUG.
8. FILL WITH ABOUT 5 QUARTS DEXTRON THROUGH
FILLER NECK.
9. START UP ABOUT 1 MINUTE, SHUT DOWN AND RECHECK. PROBABLY EASE IN ABOUT 1 MORE QUART.
10. AVOID PAYING XSMN SHOP $160.00? MISSION
ACCOMPLISHED? (THEY INSISTED ON A FLUSH)

Yes to question one. You've got it down pat. No need to flush a tranny that's working fine.
