I am having a problem with the defective oil sensor warning on my 1998 E320. The dealer has replaced it twice under the Starmarked warranty. However, occasionally when I start the car the warning will show in the dashboard read out area. When I restart the car the message goes away. The car runs fine. There are no other problems with the car. This does not happen very often but it is annoying. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I finally did get the problem solved. The dealer replaced the oil level/quality sensor. Also they discovered the oil pan was cracked. So it was replaced also. The problem was also accompanied with the smell of burning oil after I parked the car in the garage. That was in Dec and all is well so far. This was done under starmark warranty.

Delldawg,
Be persistent. It took me three ( 3 ) tries to get it right. I finally talked directly to the tech and he fixed it. The service advisor was not much help. Maybe it was because it was a Starmark car that was not purchased at their dealership and they would have to cover the cost. Good luck!
