What happened to the door check strap DIY?

The subject line says it all. There used to be a very nice DIY article on removing door check straps on W124 chassis vehicles, which was a very nice pictoral on removing door panels, too.

Can we get it back?

Hello 400E,

I remember the article and printed it out. Unfortunately I can't find it back yet.
But the following site could help you too. Once you have the door panel out,
check strap removal is straight forward.

Good luck,

Danny

I put the check strap diy together a while back and it was being "hosted" by another members web site. Anyway, I have not heard from or seen the other member post on here in over a year and now it seems that the web site where the info was posted is gone. In searching through my computer yesterday afternoon I did find the write up but I do not have any pictures to go along with it so, in my opinion, it is not as effective.

Thanks for the lead, Danny. Looks like a helpful site.

Jim, I agree. The pictures were very helpful! Sorry to hear that they were lost.
