Remove the plastic covers around the base of the headrest poles, (carefully pry) and you'll see a small black tab inside. Depressing this tab will release the headrest. I'm not sure if there's a tab on each side, or just one.

W210 Rear Head Rest Removal

can anyone give detailed discription of how to remove the rear head rest assembly on the W210?
