AC whistling noise
I have a 2001 E320. Intermittently the AC would emit a high-pitched whistling blowing noise. I have taken the car to 4 dealerships but none of them could tell me what's wrong or to fix it. Help. One dealership even told me that's the sound generated from the AC trying to cool down the interior of the car, what a BS. I have other MB with the exact AC system but no whistling.

Very unusual for that chassis to have interior noises.
However if the noise is comming from the dome lamp area then maybe the in-car temp is the problem. ALSO if the micro-dust filters aren't installed properly(or very dirty) then you can get some noise(whistle) from them.

Thank you so much for your help. How would I be able to point that out to the dealership? Every time I go to the dealerships for this whistling/humming AC noise they simply tell me "cannot duplicate", but it's really annoying and it's not just me who heard the noise

check vacuum actualtors- they might not be closing all the way-
try to let air go throughother vents ie: floor, windshield, then center vents, if for some reason it goes away when a certain vent closes, then it's the vacuum actuator that controls that certain flap- it might be stuck @ semi-close that would create a whistling sound.. hope I made sense a2
