Creep when braked at light, 190E
While sitting at a light, car will lurch forward a hair, as though I had taken my foot off the brake, even though I am holding the pedal down firmly. The pedal may pulse faintly, but does not sink. Idle steady at 700rpm, but it seems to briefly dip a hair when this occurs. This occurs up to several times a minute. My thought is a problem with the ABS, which I don't believe should be active at rest. The ABS light is off. Any ideas?
Steve

If you have your foot firmly on the pedal and the car still creeps forward, I would guess the master brake cylinder or you may have a small leak somewhere in the system.
Start off checking pad thinkness, calipers, hoses and lines......

Could there be a connection to a problem with vacuum and the brake booster?

I don't think there is a leak or seal failure, because the pedal does not go down when it happens. It feels as though the brakes release very briefly, then re-engage - i.e. as you might expect in a panic stop with ABS engaged.
I also don't think it is vacuum-related, because I would expect vacuum to be fairly high at closed throttle. Also, if it were vacuum related, I can't see how it would pulse in and out as it does. Steve
