As for your sunroof...

I do not know what your sunroof problem is but. I would take a look at your sunroof yourself. A few months ago while I was having the timing chain changed, I asked the mecanic to look at the sunroof since it was not operating that well. When I picked up the car the mecanic told me that to fix the sunroof he was going to need 2-3 full days because of the major labor involved. If I recall correctly, he said the cable needed to be changed and so forth.

Now mind you, I am in Central America but I took my car to one of the best places for mercedes here in Guatemala. The mecanic is like 50 yers old and has worked on mercedes since he was 16!

Anyway, I did not believe him on the sunroof so I got a hold of some sunroof files and attacked it myself. (look at thread http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=82465 ). note. I still have one picture to post that shows the part that was broken. Well, what I found was a fix. the only draw back is that the part is not currently available here in Guatemala. But, in the meantime the sunroof now works great. The only thing is that when I use the flip up position, the headliner on the passenger side does not go all the way up do the part that I need to get. But otherwise it opens and closes quickly and quietly.

That is my $0.02 worth. Check the sunroof yourself. maybe it could be something easy. I have also read on other threads in refeerence to the sunroof that when DIY'ers have dome the same, they have found that the sunroof was not totally shot but a realitively easy repair.
