seat belt, ignitian and head light buzzer
After two calls for the tow truck for a jump start for my '84 300TD I decided that I really need to get that buzzer fixed that warns about the lights left on. After exploring the manual on cd that I acquired soon after getting the car I'm now not so sure about that. Either i'm not understanding things, or I will have to remove the steering lock/starter switch to work on this and even then I am not sure what I would need to do. Could anyone shed any light on this topic.

FYI
Well, 18 people looked at my question but no one reaponded. I guess most folks thought that if I was that dumb I shouldn't own the car! I got some pointers from a nice guy on the MBWorld.gov forum who got me straghtened out.
I find it interesting that the MBservice manual on cd was of no assistance at all. It made no mentioned of the location of the seat belt warning buzzer that is under the lft side dash. Three screws and a little bending over and there it was! Thanks for being there. These forums are a life saver if you a mechanially and automotive challanged like me.

If I would have seen this post I would have directed you to the buzzer bolted to the side of the cruise amp.
Not everyone who looks at posts knows the answer and not everyone who knows the answer sees every post. You gave a whopping two hours window before replying to your own post - on a weekend. Patience is a virtue. Have a great day.

Mike, I am very sorry if my comment was offensive, it wasn't intended in that manner. I guess I have remember that my sense of humor is a bit off the wall and doesn't always make the grade. In my defense the wait was 26 hours not 2 but that really is not the issue. I certainly was not trying to besmirch the forum participants. I have recieved much valued information from this process.
I am unclear about the buzzer bolted to the side of the curise amp. Can you clarify?

I believe the "buzzer" is built into the seat belt relay that Mike is discussing. I have the same issue with my W201, while some owners curse the buzzer, I've had a couple of times when I've accidentally left the lights on and needed a jump, especially when driving in a dark parking garage with the lights on, and being in a rush, and ending up parking on the open roof in daylight, so the lights aren't so obviously on.

No offense intended and none taken. Often new posters think things happen instantly around here (often they do, but...). I'll take the blame for misreading the time stamps, well I guess I did read the time stamps correct but missed the dates - D'OH. Personally I have just moved from Sunny So. Cal to The Great White North, don't have an ISP yet, only got a new puter yesterday and do most of my looking/posting from the office for now.
As for finding the cruise amp. It should be bolted to the left side of the brake/clutch pedal pedistal. A large silver box about 3" x 6". It is attached with a single bolt and nut. You will have to remove the driver's side underdash to gain access. The buzzer is held to the cruise amp bracket by two phillips head screws. Chances are that you will have to remove the cruise amp from the car to get at the screws, especially if you have never removed the buzzer before as the screws will be tight. I had to chuck the amp in the vise to remove the buzzer before shipping my cruise amp off for repair. Hope this helps.

Thanks much for the assistance. I have gotten the useless buzzer out and got the new one from Smitty's yesterday. I'll get it put in this weeknd. Much appreciated.
