cleaning idle cotrol valve

Hi!

I decided to clean my ICV. Carb Cleaner and WD40 are recommended in other threads.

I wonder if WD40 lasts very long. My experience with WD40 is that it's great to get a lubricant quickly to work. But after a few days or weeks it is gone.

Is a lasting lubricant not important in the ICV or does a different lubricant have better properties for this job?

Has actually anyone tried to clean the electrical part of the ICV? I know old motors which had quite sticky, old grease on it.

Cheers
Tom
