I have an 88 300E and I am swapping out the transmission for a newer one from the 91 300E. This newer transmission has these two metal lines that come out of it in the driver's side and they end to a fitting which is bolted on to the front of transmission housing. Where does this fitting (circled in red in the photo) hook up to and what is it for?
My older transmission although otherwise identical does not have those two extra lines.
So what are these lines for and what do they connect to?

I would appreciate any answer ASAP since I need to have the transmission mounted back hopefully by tonight.
