Sunroof removal
I need to remove my sunroof to clean the whole area out after some body work. It sounds like the mechanism is sliding on sand. I have the 124 CD-ROM manual but the procedure for removing the sunroof (77-100) is incomplete. It is only one page and starts the removal but doesn't finish it and doesn't describe installation. It shows a special tool with vise-grips but never mentions using it. Does anyone have a hard copy of this procedure from a paper manual that they could scan and send me?
Thanks, Al |

Start with the sunroof open; remove the guide rail covers (chrome), pull the sunroof forward and remove headliner covering the sunroof. On either side, you have a couple bolts holding the lift mechanism to the sunroof. All that is left are the two bolts holding the cable to the sunroof in the rear. Now just pull forward and lift out. Excuse the lack of technical terms and be warned that this is based on experience with my 126.
Good lock,
