help,need to be sure 88 190e 2.3 will swap
with a 1991 190e 2.3 motor.when i first called this bone yard i was told i could not put a later motor in my 1988 2.3.
today they sell me a 91 motor saying no problem. it will go into an 88. of coarse the intake and exhaust will be from my 88. also will the distributor from a single row chain fit in the dual row motor. i would feel better knowing before the engine is delivered tomorrow. thanks for your help rich

I phoned local wrecking store 2 months ago. They said, the engine block is the same, but cylinder head is different design. Some air holes are different between single row timing chain's engine and double row timing chain's engine.
It can not directly swap for sure (that's he told me ![]() |
