Do i need to change the differential??

I bought my car before 2 years and now somebody talled me that the engine of my car was changed from 3.0 6cyl into 2.3 4cyl,also the gear was changed, but the diffeential with axles are not changed. My question is that all mercedes w124 differentials are the same??Or they Differ??My car moves sticky from stop and it consumes 2 much fuel.I feel that the tyres diffically turns when the car was in stop.So anybody have any information according to Mercedes Differentials???If i change the diffeential,am i need to change the axles???
Thanks
