Absolutely. Hidden by a panel held in place by plastic fasteners.

Rotate fasteners to remove panel.

Battery is buried in a cavity so it takes a bit of leverage to remove given its weight.

And note the unusual size and shape (translation: $$$ for an OEM replacement at dealer). Usually $300+

Mine went dead a couple of years ago and I got an Interstate replacement for around $125...

Not true!!

OEM battery does not cost any more than Interstate. I replaced mine with an OEM battery from the dealer and battery costs $124.90. I even let them put it in for me with a total of $166.60. Call the dealer and Prepboy to compare prices. That's the sure bet.

You got a better quote from your dealer than I did!

Maybe my dealer included a full-body massage and cappucino with the install!

And guess who makes the battery with the Mercedes name on it at the dealer. Interstate. I recently visited the local Interstate distributor and besides the Interstate labeled batteries, there were Mercedes and a great many other brand names on the batteries in their back room. They told me that except for the label, it was the same battery I bought but that they could only sell those to the dealers.

Local Canuck-buck price for the battery for my C230 is $165 for the OE battery, or the Interstate, you chose.

The Interstate has a better warranty, the OE battery looks better.

I have heard from some that if you have roadside assitance sell you the MB battery, you don't pay for install.

Sometimes the dealer price is worth it if it is 10-20% upcharge, as it comes with a roadside assistance warranty.

Plus the dealer made sure all electrical components work correctly after the battery was re-installed. My dealer even went as far as stamp the year on the battery posts like the OEM battery.

Battery

If you drive in they charge labor, If you call roadside assist they come to your house, and dont. My service advisor recommended this, they do all the stuff including re-sync the windows. $150 I think an it is a Interstate made for MB, euros were Varda or something
