recently took the car into the shop for valve adjustment for my 16v. the work was done, new rings and valve cover gasket was replaced. car runs great. now i have more oil leak by the valve cover on the lower front side, just under the oil cap. i also changed the oil cap to the new style since the old one is known to leak. the mech told me that i have to buy a new valve cover @ $295.00. could the cover be damanged from the heat easily or what can i do? or i must get the new cover? thanks.

Could be the o-ring for leveling system pump as these are common leak point on 16V. Also could be pump adaptor o-ring.

My 16 valve also has this same leak. I used a silicone valve cover sealer around the header side of the valve cover and it doesnt leak at all. How can you cure this pump gasket leak?
