w140 A/C repair

Anyone out there know the exact location of the expansion valve on a 1995 S420? I've heard it's under the wipers. Thinking about replacing it myself, to see if I can stop a leak. I succesfully pulled off an expansion valve replacement in a 126, but recognize that this will probably be even more of a PITA.

Diagrams, photos, instructions would be very helpful.

Come on people! Someone out there is holding back.

When is MB going to give up a chassis manual on this car anyway? 4 years after the last new w140 was sold, you would think it is about time.

I sure miss the w126, and when MB was a company of engineers.

The expansion valve is on the drivers side firewall close to the brake booster area, you will have to remove the wiper assy and cowling to gain access. Be carefull sometimes its tricky getting the lines lined up correctly.
