Where is the fuel sending unit on a 190e?

Hey guys:

I'm looking for the fuel sending unit. My fuel guage jumps around below 1/2 tank and I guess I need to clean the unit from what I read in the posts.

Its not under the first aid kit as someone suggested. Where would it be? I took the rear seat off yesterday and found an air pump for the central locks, but no fuel unit. Is it in the trunk behind some plastic somewhere or do I need to get under the car?

Thanks,

-=>Raja.

In my 300E.
The sending unit is on top of the tank.
The tank is behind the back seat backrest. Open the trunk and remove the panel behind the back seat. It should be there.
Again, this is a 300E.

Access is by removing the carpeting/panel at the front of the trunk. A bulkhead separates it from the passenger compartment, so leave the seat alone.

Aha!

Thanks guys for the responses. I will see if I can locate this puppy tonight and give it a cleaning to see if the fuel guage will work better. One step at a time along with this helpful forum and all the great guys here and hopefully I'll have all the little problems sorted out!
