Foggy Windshield

i have to ask the question.....

why is it that benz cannot design and manufacture a car that doesn't fog its windshield when running the a/c in locales with high ambient relative humidity?

every one that i have ever owned, from my first benz, a 1973 220, through all the rest[1976 450sel, 1979 6.9, 1985 300e, 1986 560sel, 1987 560sec, 1995 e320cab, 1997 s500c] fogs the windshield when running the a/c in houston humidity.

i have owned and driven other vehicles over my 30+ years in metro-houston: lotuses, volkswagen scirrocco, honda crx, gmc yukon, cadillac sdv, ford tauri, honda accords, lexus s400, lexus g470. none of these vehicles has ever fogged the windshield.

what is it about areas of high ambient humidity that benz refuses to comprehend?

and it must be a benz thing. my friends who drive bimmers claim that they do not encounter the phenomenon. my friends who drive audis claim that they do not encounter the phenomenon.

why is it that benz refuses to eliminate this problem?

all ears.

My car doesn't do that.
Must be just yours..............because M-B hates you.
Actually, that's the first thing I noticed, after purchasing my car.
Blasting ice-cold air on a warm windshield would certainly create an instant fogging effect.
Maybe " the rest of the world " introduces cold air more gradually.

thnx manny, i needed that.

but you must understand, it is astounding that over 30 years, benz still cannot design a car that doesn't fog the windshield in locales of high ambient humidity.

i am an engineer and i own and manage a speciality manufacturing firm. we have no design problems that go unresolved for one[1] year, let alone thirty[30] years.

what are they smoking in stuttgart?
