Brake Sensitivity

Hey guys,
I recently changed my brake fluid and flushed the black stuff out with some fresh clear stuff. I used castrol DOT3/4 in a 190E 2.3-16 and I was pretty careful to bleed them throughly and avoid getting any air in the mix but now my brake pedal doesnt engage how it used too. The braking is further down near the floor than it used to be. Is this normal? can I adjust it? I liked it more up at the top like before. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks a million!

You may want to try and bleed the brakes again,, even a small amount of air can cause this.. Remember air can be compressed quite a bit... so try and give it a bleed again.. and hopefully that should correct it..

The Haynes manual says to restore the cap on the fill reservoir every time you add more fluid. Would this maybe cause my problem also? Perhaps there is some issues with pressurization since the cap wasnt on? I'm gonna go ahead and do it by the book today. Thanks for the suggestion.

If you were manually bleeding I don't think the cap would have anthing to do with it. As long as the reservoir is full when you are pumping and you do not let any air into the system. The reservoir is not pressurized it is just a holding tank.

With that said, as stated above, try bleeding again.
