Need some quick electrical help

Howdy,

I'm in the middle of replacing my alternator voltage regulator on my 1984 190d 2.2 and have a question. The one that came out has Bosch part # 1 197 311 008 and the replacement I got is a Hella unit numbered 5DR 004 241-15.

They look the same physically. My question is: Should I go ahead and put it in and try it?

Thanks for your help.

Sholin in Mustang, OK.

If it will fit in place, absolutely. They all have the same regulator chip.

Hope this helps,
