I have a 71 280sl that I am trying to hook up a dwell meter to.
The 71 has points and an electronic module under the battery. I cant get a correct dwell reading . The BBB says to hook up the meter at the module but I cant find the leads. Will I get a correct reading at the coil?

You should get a correct reading at the coil. The electronic module on point ignition cars is simply a switch that gets its signal from the points, but handles the high current through the module. This makes the points last forever except for the wearing of the rubbing block.
