this just started happening a couple of days ago to my 84 190e...as i started my car my i noticed my engine revving up and down from like 10-15 grand on the rpm gauge...i wasnt doing anything it was idling like that...the next day i started and it was okay, but it still does it occasionally and when i took it to the mechanic so he could take a look at it, my car was running allright...any help would be appreciated...

Wow, this could be a number of different things. Best guess->fuel system. Benzmac probably has good dope on that model..
