I have a 1990 420SEL with 107,000 miles on it with a nagging problem. When I lock the car the alarm goes off after about one minute for no apparent reason. It doesn't matter from which lock it is locked. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? How do you deactivate the alarm system? Thanks.

This will happen for a number of reasons. To take off the alarm, you just need to pull the passenger's carpet and then pull the black panel to the front. The alarm box has a zip tie all the way around the plug. Take off both of the plugs.
