Cool My new Benz!

Just wanted to show you guys my new Benz. It is a 1993 400E. It is smoke silver. 1 previous owner and, get this, only 48000 miles on it.

I saw it on Ebay. The guy was in Sarasota and I am only 15 minutes away so I went up there. I fell in love with it.

When I went to test drive it, the guy had a 1985 300D with only 160k on it. I test drove it AFTER I test drove the 400E. The turbodiesel ran fine and the A/C blew cold. The only thing was I didnt get to crank it by taking it out on the expressway. I could've made sure the turbo was kickin' in and I could go 80-85 mph.

The guy said he would sell it to me for $2500 so if anyone is interested please let me know and I could maybe check it out further for ya or even take some pictures of it.

He also had a '94 E320 (black) 85K on it ($11K) and a 91 300E (white) with 130k on it ($5500).

That's a twin to my wifes' 400E. Have 85K on it now and it has just been a super car. Her latest words are, "When Sandys' car is gone,,, you will know Sandy is dead".

Sounds like a good buy. I disagree with chazola about the first upgrade. I believe that the euro lights are the second upgrade. The first upgrade is to wash the brakedust from the front wheels.

Looks great,

It looks like it will take more than washing to remove the brake dust buid-up on the front wheels. Remove the front wheels and try some heavy duty polish or rubbing compound ... a lot of work, but they may be salvageable. If too far gone they may need bead blasting and repainting.

Unless the wheels are damaged, alloy wheel cleaner is very good.

I use something that comes in a yellow spray bottle (don't remember what). Leave it on for 2 minutes, and brush off. Little/no scrubbing, gets rid of 90% of brake dust and dirt, looks great.

Lovely car !

is removing brake dust considered a true upgrade?

nice car though, shame you don't get to use that xtra power (not 'round here you wouldn't anyway).

He already did an upgrade... He got the windows tinted.

I was with him when he went to check it out. It still has that "New Car Smell"!

btw. He test drove the 300D AFTER he test drove the 400E...no wonder he thought the acceleration was a little slow

it's all original!

Larry Bible,

I want to keep the car as original as I can. That is ORIGINAL brake dust. I don't want to change it out.

It still has the original oil too!

Does it also have the original gasoline in the tank? Original coolant in the engine?
