Vito 115CDi 04 UK registration (Brand new!)

I've beed asked to fit a Xenon light kit to a Vito 115CDi - with the sysem fittem powering the Xenon kit with the existing bulb connectors the lights came on for 2 secs then went off, on again after some 30 secs then straight off.

Decided to use the bulb connector to power a relay instead and use a fused feed from the battery to power up the light system. This worked fine - but, here's the bug! - the bulb failure is now permenantly saying that both dip beams are blown! Is there a way to either disable the bulb failure for the headlights or a way to fool the system in thinking the bulbs are fine??
