All Mercedes wires are solid. Yes, you could use them for a good speaker wire if needed. They then use a resistor end to get the job done for helping stop static interference. The Mercedes ignition system is one of the most reliable I have ever seen. IT is not uncommon for a 300E to have well over 100k for the first distributor cap and rotor. You have to run the right plugs and check the resistor tips with a scope.
