Unhappy Top Stuck Down

I lowered my top (1994-SL320) and it went down OK, but the rear cover didn't close all the way. I manually closed it, but now the top doesn't do anything (up or down) and the warning light/buzzer on the console keeps buzzing. Is there something that needs to be reset?

Was there an obstruction in the top canopy area that may be causing this?

Were you moving the car (albeit slowly) or switching gears when this occurred?

I'm guessing disconnect the battery and reconnect after a few minutes. This will require you to "resynchronize" the top operation...at least two full top up/top down sequences should set everything back to normal.

I believe G-Benz is correct. I had the same problem with my cabriolet -- everything would work except the cover wouldn't close. Disconnecting the bettary with the top in full up or full down position should reset the mechanism.

Did you disconnect the battery with the top in an in-between position? I believe this would throw off the sequence.
