High beam stop working W210
Hi All:
I've noticed that my high beam lights are not working. 1998 E430 - 49K miles. They seemed a little flakey in the past but now they won't come on at all. When you flick the high beam switch it does nothing - the low's stay on and don't even flicker. Here is my question: It seems like a relay - but, since I don’t have a schematic for this model I don’t know were it would be. I’m assuming that it is behind the main fuse box? Any other suggestions? Thanks for any and all. Brad. |

No relays, have you checked the fuse box on the drivers side of the dash? The combination switch is a common problem.

I have not check that fuse box - That should have been the first thing I checked.
Is there a way to trouble shoot the combinatin switch without taking it apart? Is it very evasive to replace? Thanks |

Don't rule out that you might have 2 bad bulbs. With the high beams on you can measure the voltage at the bulb socket to verify if the bulbs are bad or to check if the switch is good.
