Question 190e stall?????????

hi everyone. i just recently aquiered this mercedes and it is my first one and i have having a few problems with it
it is an 88 190e with the 2.3L. when eng is started cold it idles up and down until warm. when engine warms it cuts off only at idleevery couple minutes or so. when driving down the road its fine the car only has 64,000 miles on it.
i do not even know where to begin on this car because i usually work on asian cars. any help would be greatly appreciated>

If you use the search you will find lots of information on 190e's stalling. I fixed mine idle problem by taking out the idle air control valve and cleaning it with brake cleaner. (It is located between the intake manifold runners at the back of the engine.)
