				Refurbishing/Re-sealing early w210 headlights

Hi, The driver's side headlight on my father's 'new' 96 e300D is kind of yellowed and has water inside. Is there a way to remove the yellowing of the lens? How does one go about re-sealing these headlights? Is there any suggested material to use? Any good ideas on how to get it to dry out thuroughly without taking the lens off completely? Optimally, I will dry it out by leaving the headlights on a lot when Im driving (and covering them in the rains), so they dry out with no moisture condensing inside, then seal them on the outside edges with something. Does this sound good? Or does the yellowing come from the inside of the lens (doubtful), requiring full disassembly? Any info/suggestions/help would be really great! Thanks, JMH

There was a post in detailing about polishing the lenses. They looked a lot better. He posted before and after pics. Do a search and you will find it. I don't know what to say about the resealing though. I would think there would be a gasket that needs to be replaced. David

thanks! Maybe you can explain one thing tha isnt clear to me... The lens needs to be sealed somehow to the body of the light, right? If the lens is replacable, then what does that? Is there a rubber gasket that goes between the lens and the headlight body? Or is it actually glued somehow? I suppose there is an external rubber gasket between the actual light and the body of the car, but that couldnt be the only thing that keps water out. I dont understand what keeps it tight... Are the foglight lenses replacable? Do you know part numbers? Any suggestions where to get those bosch parts from? The nubers appear to be bosch part numbers, not MB numbers. Thanks! JMH
