Red Mercedes ?

? I love red, but somehow it doesn't seem to look right in a Mercedes... something like a sporty color in a not-so-sporty car. I saw a 95 E300 (edit: candy apple red- aka bright red, not burgandy, )red, while it looked nice , it was hmm, interesting, I guess...

Then yesterday, went to a local dealer and they had a C280 red, 95 or 96(?) with 70K miles.... I asked the guy about it and he assumed it was a terrible color, "ughh my partner bought that car at the auction, terrible color... we want $7.5K"... I was like, "yeah, terrible color".... hmmm

Anyone have any model red Benz with a pic to post?

Others - Thoughts? Kinda weird, don't know why, "red"... like a bmw 3 series, being sporty, looks fine in red... but can't convince myself on a red C280 a full 100% , LOL

Well, a burgundy shade of red lks fine, but this is like Ferrari Red...

I've been searching for a 210 wagon for my wife and she loves the burgundy red. My independent mechanic claims the red is one of the two worst colors of MB's, with the turquoise green being the other.

To each his own i suppose, but I'm okay with the burgundy

Small cars look good is red. Big cars, NO! Sorry I don't have a picture to post of my signal red 190E 2.6. Great color on this car.

I recall seeing one signal red W126. A 126 just does not look right in red.

Keep in mind that some colors are more durable than others on the same car. I'm not sure how MB red compares with the other colors.

MB seems to have picked odd shades of several colours. I mean, c'mon- Teal?! Ugh. Must be German 'style'.
I've seen a dark red 300E that looked smart (Evan on this forum has one I think) but otherwise it seems the best colours are black and silver.
Diesel owners seemed to get screwed with a lack of decent colour choices especially. I passed on a nice 300D 'cause it was champagne gold.

I wonder what a W126 would look like in Yellow or Orange?

Is this the kind of Red you are talking about?

I've seen this colored car on the street, I agree with you it is too bright for a Mercedes.

I have a burgundy red C280 myself. I think the darker red is more classy.

Here is mine

Blasphemy!

The 300SL Gully looked sexy in red.

I'd have to say the 190SL also.

I concur with you on both points... your red seems elegant. Yet the bright red...hmmm... lots of red, thanks to all

HI All
The 90 SL in red look great its just a matter of choice.
I just past on buying a red 1991 560SEC with only 42k on the clock. I may regret later. I just don't like red. Check it out ebay # 2475567667. Sold for 17,200.00

For those of us in the SL world, red's always been pretty popular. A red 107 with palomino interior is both common and attractive, IMHO. Of course, the one I found happens to be anthracite on creme beige with a black soft top; the anthracite/black combination seems to whisper a bit of the 1930's cabriolet heritage, somehow.
