3 Frustrating Problems w/ my 1995 S500 Sedan..PLZ HELP!

Help with any of the following problems will greatly be appretiated. Thanks in advance

Problem #1:

The button on the key doesn't unlock/lock the door. The lights change from green to red and vice versa on the door but it doesn't get unlocked. And when I unlock the door from the passenger side, it only unlocks the passenger side door. I have to manually unlock all the other doors. If I try to unlock the driver side door using the key and turning it, it doesn't work. Anyone know what is wrong here?

Problem #2

Radio just shut off about a week ago and it isn't turning back on. Do I need to disconnect the battery to get it to work again?

Problem #3

A/C randomly shuts off once a week and I have to open up the hood and take out fuse #21 I think its fuse #21...and put it back in... Last time the a/c did this, I checked the fuse..and it was fine but I still had to take it out and put it back in to get the A/C to work... If the A/C is on....the lights and everything will still be there..but the A/C just wont be running.. If this a/c is off..I won't be able to turn it on..it'll be like the buttosn just don't work..

You probably have a drivers door lock problem. The alternating red green lights indicate a problem.

The activity in #2 makes me think the problem in #1 is the drivers door.

In your AC problem, check to see if the compressor is on, or if it is just the blower that isn't working. Without a wiring diagram I have no idea what that fuse does but the common problem in 140 cars is the blower regulator. The compressor would be on though and if you drove you would feel cold air forced ventilated into the car.

I said blower regulator, but if you got a new OE one the regulator is included. Next most common problem is probably the pushbutton control unit, but if you were having the problem related to a fuse, a wiring diagram and a look at that circuit would be next.

Remote Key

Would it help to reprogram the key, in case the programking got scrambled?

Don't feel too bad, mine stopped working 3 months ago...I am not sure how to diagnose wether it is the key or the unit, I suspect the key....

How would you go about reprogramming the key or do you have to go to the dealer?

As of 1/94

DE-SYNCHRONIZATION OF IRCL
In the event one of the infrared transmitters is lost, that transmitter can be de-synchronized, so that the IRCL control module will no longer recognize or respond to it.
To de-synchronize the system, ground the IRCL pin in the data link connector (X11/4) for 30-40 seconds with the ignition ON. Model 140 can also be de-synchronized using the impulse counter scan tool or the Hand-Held Tester (HHT).
After de-synchronization, the remaining infrared transmitters must be synchronized. Thus, if an IR transmitter is lost, only the mechanical locks need replacement to restore the vehicle's security. Note: The system must be re-synchronized after replacing a transmitter.

SYNCHRONIZING TRANSMISSION SIGNAL OF REMOTE CONTROL

If the vehicle cannot be locked or unlocked it may be necessary to synchronize the lock system

Point window in remote control key at a receiver.
Press button momentarily.
Switch on ignition with folding key in remote control key within the next 30 seconds. The remote control should once again be operational.
***************www.alldatadiy.com**************

I always buy a service manual for my vehicles. This data is available on www.alldatadiy.com A 1 year subscription is $24.95 renewals are $19.95 and the second, third etc. vehicle are $19.95. After many fruitless searches and phone calls, I discovered that there is no manual available for the 140 paper or CD, and then I stumbled on the alldatadiy site..the rest is history and since I typically paid $150-200 for manuals it is easily the cheapest investment.
