self-levelling 92 300TE

Dear all
Last weekend I wanted to exchange the hydraulic fluid of my self-levelling system. However, the hose returning to the container in the front did not deliver any fluid, although a signal was provided both by putting weight into to car or shifting the lever at valve under the car manually. When the system was de-pressurized, there was some (1quart) of brakish foam coming from the valve, and the car was lowering. Since then, I never managed to rise the car again. I suspect the hydraulic pump to be gone. Would you agree with me diagnosis? Any input is more than welcome! Bruno
BTW The independent mechanic already exchanged the valve for 500$, without curing the problem!

Indeed it was the pump. Replacing it cured the problem.
