Sorry for the off-topic post, but it is not often that you find a mercedes enthusiast that is also a paisan...
By the way, I just had this happen to me on our 86' 300E, I took the idle valve out and cleaned it with carburator cleaner (it was a bit dirty). That fixed it for a day, now I am thinking it could be the overvoltage protection relay, which was a source for the same problem a while back. Hope this helps... Quote:
