is a 98/99 S280/320 a good purchase?
G'day all I am curently looking at a 98/99 S class and would greatly appreciate anyone who currently owns one to share their experience with me. I know the first four years had some bad problems but I have been told that the very last of the series is not only much better but a car that no manufacture is ever like to emulate again including MB. I am looking at the six cylinder models as it is for cruising across Australian country side and our max speed limit is a stupid 110Kph so I don't need the V8 any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Mat. |

1998-1999 W140's are considered to be the best.
The 3.2 liter M104 engine was in its last two years of use as well, so any of the earlier problems, like wiring harnesses and head gasket problems, have all been worked out, too.
