300e engine mounts replaced.Heat shield(s)?

A moonlighting MB mechanic who charges half of what MB charges
when work done at his house-garage,replaced that motor mounts for me last night.
I noticed only the passenger side near the exhaust manifold has the heat shield coppery plate over the mount while the driver side the more inaceesible side has NO heat shield.
Is this normal?

By the wayHe charged ,oil +filter change(he supplied filter and oil) plus rad fluid(only drain at and refill rad) change, motor mounts change(mounts supplied by me )=135 Canadian cash or US$100.

The exhaust side is the one that is susceptible to heat. It MUST be there. I have never changed a left side mount on a 124 so I don't know if there should be one there or not. I would not be at all surprised if they don't put one there.

Good luck,
