Can someone pl tell me where the above line goes-- I pulled it out of a nest of lines and cant find its other end..

It is just a vent. Most of the ones I have seen are just routed into the cabin through the firewall. I have seen some that just had the rubber elbow piece turned down to keep trash/debris out of it.
