Unhappy transmission-downshift delay

1992 500sl When accelerator is floored there is quite a delay befor down shift. Down shift switch is ok. Can problem be in the cable to the transmission ? If so what is the proper adjustment?

Open the passenger side door, with the ignition key on step on the gas petal to the floor, if you hear a click coming from the rear of the car, the electrical system of the kick down is working. Then adjust the Bowden cable, (throttle valve cable) in the engine compartment, make it tighter, I like to custom tune the cable to the customers driving style, adjust and drive. If you still have a delay KD you have to check the oil pressures. Others possibilities are Kick down solenoid or o rings, and the valve body.
