It appears I must remove the balancer from our 82 240D to extract broken crank pulley bolts. My Haynes manual says to use the center (large) bolt to press it back in original position. I read here, and from another member, that this may not be correct proceedure. Comments? Have broken 9 drill bits and 3 easy outs trying extract sheared bolts without removing balancer. Ideas?
