1987 300td

my 87 300td won't turn over. battery is fine. is there a fuse or anything in the circuit to look for? won't turn over in park or neutral. thanks for any help

Hold the key in start and wiggle the shifter north and south of N. Don't wiggle as far as R or D without being ready for it to catch!

Maybe the ignition switch?

I had what maybe the same problem with my 87 300D. I rigged a ignition switch bi-pass, but only for the starter, the ignition/acc, part worked, only the start possition didn't.

Oddly, the ignition start position works again, but I still have the bi-pass switch installed just in case. Before I installed the switch, I used a wrench on the starter to jump the wires to start the engine.
