A/C not cooling when engine is hot
Hello all.
I have noticed that my engine is tending to run hot when stuck in traffic (about 110 deg) it is a 190E 2.3, 1992. It is clear that the cooling fluid needs change. However, I have noticed that the A/C stop cooling when the engine reachs that temperatures, as if it was unable to do more, is this normal? Thanks! |

Check the Aux fan.

Well, at least it works when you turn on the A/C with the engine at idle and cold, so I don't have reasons to suspect on it, right?
Thanks |

I had a problem with the Aux fans where they were drawing too much current and not turning very fast. The car would start to overheat at a stop with the AC on. As soon as I replaced the fans, the engine temperature stays between 85 and 95.
The defective fans were also blowing the fuse as soon as I engaged the high speed mode.

You may want to turn the AC off and see if the car still overheats. If it does, then you may have a cooling system problem.
