Yes there are many who still use the word standard when referring to any manual transmission. This is from the days when the transmission that came standard was a manual, and the optional was an automatic.

In the C240 you would be correct, because the manual transmission comes as standard equipment. In the C320, the standard transmission is an automatic.

This is why you see me refer to any manual transmission as manual transmission.

There are some people now who think that when the transmission selector lever is in the floor, it is a stick shift.
