W124 AMG Hammer

Hi,

Looking for help and guidance.

I have just purchased an AMG Hammer saloon/sedan fitted with a 5.0 or 5.6 V8, which in turn is fitted with AMG's own quad cam heads.

This particular car was built in 1986 and is a right hand drive car supplied in the UK. I'm lead to believe that it was the original press demonstration car.

The car is a non runner and needs a new engine block.

The question I have for you guys, does anybody out there know much about the technical aspect of these cars, especially the engines, and secondly does anybody know how many Hammers were actually built.......I have been able to find that just 13 Hammer coupe's were built and that there may have been less saloons/sedans manufactured.

Any help would be most appreciated.
