OVP relay question
I have seen some inconsistent information in the archives about OVP relays. My question is, for a 1987 300E (US spec), is 201 540 08 45 the correct part number for the OVP relay?
I have one and it has one 10 amp fuse on top under a clear flip top. I know there was an earlier version with a different part number (I think the 3rd number was "38"). I have seen some posts saying the new spec relay has 2 fuses, but some people say only for 4matics and even the new spec one has 1 fuse. Second question...is the ABS light supposed to stay on for 5-7 seconds after the car is started? All the other warning lights go off as soon as car is started, but my ABS light stays on for several seconds longer. I know bad OVP causes ABS to come on, but I thought it would stay on, not stay on for few seconds and go off? Thanks for help.

I don't have a ready answer on the relay, but I can answer the other question. The light stays until the ABS system goes through a self test. If you run the car on a dyno, the light will stay on until the system sense that all 4 wheels are turning at the same speed again.
