95 E320 Wiring Harness

Where can I find a engine wiring harness for a 1995 E320 sedan? I have received a qoute (Dealer) at $728.00. Can someone point me in a more economical direction?

harness

95 e300d - 115k. Right after I purchased it last year, indy said it needed a new wiring harness. He showed me some of the bare wires. He said some of the newer mbs have weak wiring harnesses. He said he hardly ever has to replace them on older models. I remember asking him about finding better quality non-oem replacement parts and he said he didn't know of any. He charged me about $700 to replace it and make sure everything worked properly. So far so good. When my indy handed me the old wiring harness, I considered it a privelige to pay him for his expertise. (like paying a good surgeon) Don't be cheap.

Was the $728 quote with installation? I paid that much just for the wiring assembly from FastLane. I think you found your price.

Fastlane

I bought mine from Fastlane about a year ago for almost that much. It was not too difficult to install but did take some time. Most important to follow connections from beginning to end so you plug them into the right places. Don't unplug the old harness then try to figure out where your new one goes. That would be a disaster waiting to happen.

I agree, if quoted price includes the installation, that's a great deal.

Why are you looking for a '95 wiring harness when you have a '90 300E? My '94 wiring harness was about the same price as yours but I got the MBCA discount from my dealer so it came up to about $600.

It's not the same wiring harness for all 94-95 E320s. The 94 and early 95 models had one part number that cost $575. Late 95 models had another part number that cost $725. I learned this from Phil (FastLane) when he initially sent me the wrong part.

Bercause of this I urge people to first get the part number of the old wiring harness before ordering what they need. It can be found on a tag roughly one or two feet from the bulkhead connection.
