				Power seat

The rear lift and lower of my passenger seat is not working. When I move the switch there is a click and the interior lights dim a little. I got the seat out and want to test the motor. Can I just apply power to the motor or will that damage it?

				power seat

For anyone interested. I finally got my seat out of the car, the back was stuck in the down position, not fun. I put power to the different pins and found the same clicking noise for the back controls. I unhooked the cables and found them to work fine, when I checked the movement of the track parts I found them to be stiff. I oiled all of the hinged areas and worked the oil in, and then reassembled the seat. It works like a charm now so I guess I better lube up the other seat. A couple of drops of oil can save about 3 hours of work down the road, let alone possibly replacing a motor.
