Grille Removal

Can someone help me? I am trying to replace the grille screen, on my 82 300sd, but can't figure out how to get the dumb thing apart. I have removed 6 screws (3 on each side) as well as screws on the top and bottom of the chrome surrounding the screen. What I can't figure out is how to pull the screen itself out. It appears there are "clips" on each side that are keeping the grille secure. Does anyone know if I am supposed to remove these clips or bend them forward, or what? HELP!!!!!!!!!

The clips will pop out from what I recall. There should also be a small screw on the bottom of the gill that has to be removed. In addition, the round wreath that is on the front of the grill also holds the screen on. Once you have removed the clips, the screw on the bottom and the wreath the screen will come out.

Hello. Yes, I have removed the top and bottom screws of the grille as well. The Mercedes wreath came off with the top screw. The clips will not pop out, though. It looks as though they have to be pushed out sideways with a flat screwdriver, or something. I just haven't tried that because I didn't want to mess anything up. I appreciate your advice. Thank you.
