Question about options on a 560SEL
I am currently looking at a 560SEL. It is an American car, but is leather standard on them? Also, is the extra horn optional? What is the purpose of the horn?
Thanks David

I believe leather was the standard interior for US models. If anything other than leather it is likely special order.
What do you mean about the horns? There is a switch with a symbol that looks like an exclamation point, this switches between city and country horn, the horn is dual tone. There are four horns total - two in the grille and two underneath. The two underneath are for the alarm system.

So is the country horn just loud, or a different tone. What does it sound like? Does it sound more American with the country horn activated? I asked about the horn to see if it was also standard.
Thanks David

One sounds like an American car (country?), the other horn sounds like a foreign car.

American cars have a loud horn, not as high pitched as Mercedes. My horn is not nearly as loud as that of a GM car, it's rather high-pitched and "femanine". I was hoping that with the button on it would be like having an air horn, that would be awesome. It's too expensive to add-on though.
Thanks David

J.C. Whitney sells a lot of horns, probably air horns as well.

What you need is a musical horn. Preferably one which plays 'Dixie."
