Hi. On a previous topic I mentioned I was having the front brakes of my 88 300E make a whistle sound and then the ABS would kick in at very low speeds (5 MPH when comming to a stop).
I took the car to the dealer and they found the ABS sensors to be faulty and need replacement. The estimate is $850 parts and labor. The guy said since the car doesn't do it all the time (usually rush hour) it's not a safety issue and I don't have to replace them. What do you all think? Thanks for the replies. |
