what wire goes where ?? Ignition switch -

i just bought a 300e 4 matic 1990 had to tow it home because the ignition tumbler had failed - I followed the multiple threads in the forum and have been able to remove the lock assembly - have all the new stuff on order from the local dealer (as you guys say stealer -) the only problem i have now is getting the wires back onto the switch right color to right nu,berd post - my MB service manual cd is on the way - doeas anyone have a cheat sheet - or chart - ?????????????

I feel your pain,if you have not gotten the information that you need as yet ,this may help you.
Large wires
pink with yellow stripe pin 15R
pink with red stripe pin 15
violet or purple pin 50
Small wires
pink with green stripe pin 15x
green with white stripe pin P30

red pin 30
red pin 30
These are for a 1995 C280 turned out to be the same as a 190E hope this information helps.

thanks Lawrence - !! all i need to figure out now is how to get the lock ass. back into the steering coll. -- i have all the wires in car runs great - but when i try to slide the lock back into the steering col. it anly goes a little farther than the "pin (the one i had to grind off to remove the old assembly) "

You have to turn steering lock to postion one to order push the pin down then you can install steering lock back into steering column.

yup = guess im just going to have to work harder at it - i did that - got past the pin then i get stuck - (((
